10-01-10. The Indianapolis art scene seems to be improving a little bit. A short review.

Ben Johnson had some of the most interesting glass I've ever seen on display at the new Gallery 924. The sandblasted surfaces were so much nicer than the usual bright and shiny art glass. The pieces also had very intriguing organic forms.

Jennifer Lanski had the most engrossing piece in the group show currently at imoca. It consists of a grid of house drawings, one for each of the 50 US states. Below each house is written how many thousands of hours of minimum wage work it would take to pay the full price. The piece really gratified my obsessive-compulsive side.

Rebecca Clune had some strong abstract work in the Herron Student Gallery.
