10-13-12. Our muffin tin.

Knossos (92)

"Knossos (92)",  oil on canvas, 16x16in. For sale on eBay.
I imagined myself pulling on a pair of athletic socks in preparation for a hike from a hotel to Knossos, the archaeological site on the island of Crete in Greece.

Meanwhile, a tiny sandhopper (a type of amphipod), clambers over the grains of sand on the Mediterranean shore.

I know that this is not immediately apparent in my painting, but this is one of a few stories you could tell about what you see. It's mainly a study of color and form. The main color is "Knossos" (#92 in Naomi Kuno's Colorscape book).
