I didn't Google her to find out for sure whether she's supposed to be black, because I didn't want to be disappointed. She at least definitely has brown skin and dreadlocks. I like anime generally, but it's always bugged me that almost all of the characters look white. (Even though I know that most of them are supposed to be Japanese. I bet a whole lot of Americans still don't know that.)

06-09-10. Miyuki Ayukawa from BASQUASH. A possible rare black anime character.

I agree that there should be more black anime characters
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for African American anime characters to cosplay, its hard to find any, but its mostly because its made in Japan, they don't have to many brown skinned people there. Even seeing an actual American character can be tricky if its not the main character already
